Who is NonExecCFO?

Paul Hinder FCMA FCIS

Since 2001, Paul Hinder has provided his business and professional services to owner-managers and VC backed businesses, in a wide variety of sectors, both in the UK and internationally.

Services provided include: business planning, fund raising, strategic advice, implementing and maintaining solid financial & operational processes and controls, improving cash management & profitability, building management teams, supplier & customer negotiations, legal & tax advice, coaching & mentoring, and being a great sounding board and pillar of support and understanding.  Making sure that all action plans are successfully implemented - and not just giving advice as many consultants do – the solutions are always practical and realistic.

With 40 years in business he has been able to gain a unique breadth of experience.   Most of these years were spent in blue-chip companies and the telecoms, IT and internet sectors, in both senior financial and operational roles.  He has main board, Plc and City experience and worked for companies such as Motorola, ICL, Mercury Communications and Cable & Wireless.  In telecoms, he has worked in mobile and fixed line, in the UK and internationally and in IT he has worked in both hardware and software sectors.

Between 1997 and 2001, he worked closely with the founder of a small telecoms start-up venture and turned this into a profitable business with £80m revenue, 500 employees, one of the leading players in its markets and being listed on the London Stock Exchange. It was here that he gained his experience of acquisitions, fund raising and investor relations.

In telecoms, as an example, he has worked in: manufacturing & distribution, resellers network & service provision, content provision, as well as in a range of channels to market i.e. resale/distribution, franchising, direct sales, mail order, retail, network marketing, and dealerships.  So one of his strengths is that he truly understands every facet and function of a business – in fact he has been responsible for many of them at one time or another in his career so he does speak from both experience and maturity.

Paul is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Accountants.  Based in Berkshire, his UK clients are usually in London and the South East but also businesses based in USA and mainland Europe.
